Sunday August 24 ... Peggy's Cove

Today was mostly a driving day as we traveled from Cape Breton to Halifax.

Breakfast was full of drama as the lady of the house fussed over us even though it was self service. Then one of the staff appeared with a tray of glassware with nowhere for it to go. Solution. Walk around the back and drop the lot.

Once again,lovely coastal views
We arrived in Halifax before our rooms were ready so went down to the waterfront and visited the information centre in preparation for our day on the loose in Halifax.

Back at our hotel, Best Western Chocolate Lake, we noticed quite a few people swimming in the lake. Actually, the water temperature was quite pleasant.

Swimmers enjoying the lovely warm day in and around Chocolate Lake
After we settled in to our rooms we headed out to Peggy's Cove, some 45km out of Halifax. The terrain is unbelievable. The key feature is its much photographed lighthouse.

And then there was rock and more rock

We ate at Peggy's Cove and the waiter really impressed us. There were eleven people in our party, some changing their mind, and he took our order without writing it down and managed to get it all correct.

We were still in Peggy's Cove as the sun set.
